Pictish Stag Slate Plaque

Pictish stag slate wall plaque, freehand carved and enamelled (15 x 16 cm). Based on the carving from a Class I Pictish stone from Grantown on Spey (now housed in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh).

This one is now sold (and with a customer from Grantown on Spey!), but I will be making more and they are available to order.

This is a Pictish stag cheeseboard, based on the design from a Class I Pictish stone at Grantown (now in the Museum of Scotland). Hand carved and finished from a reclaimed roof slate.

Pictish beastie wall plaques

This particular Pictish ‘beastie’ is found on Rodney’s Stone, which is located close to the entrance of Brodie Castle, near Forres in Moray.


These two plaques were made for a recent commission. Freehand carved and enamelled, 30 x 20 cm.
